Nottingham start-up turns job photos and a voice note into a professional quote in minutes
Instant-Estimate gives tradespeople quotes, invoices, receipts and Making Tax Digital-ready records in one phone app, and lets their accountant see it all.
NOTTINGHAM: Instant-Estimate, a new app built for UK tradespeople, lets a builder, plumber or electrician take a few photos on site, describe the job out loud, and send the client a branded, itemised quote within minutes, using their own prices, hourly rate and terms.
Once the client accepts, the same job flows through the rest of the paperwork: deposits and card payments, extras priced mid-job for the client to approve, the final invoice with the deposit already taken off, automatic payment chasing and an automatic receipt. Receipts are photographed and filed in the right HMRC category, and business mileage is logged as the tradesperson drives.
With Making Tax Digital for Income Tax now applying to sole traders earning over £50,000, and to those over £30,000 from April 2027, Instant-Estimate keeps records up to date all year. Tradespeople can share their books with their accountant, who sees quarterly figures, a year-end tax pack, expenses and mileage, and a readiness checklist in one dashboard.
Accountants can join a free partner programme, invite their trade clients, and earn a fee when those clients upgrade.
